photoXtremus v3 - Photo Browsing Got Smarter™
PhotoXtremus v3™ provides you with an intuitive way to blend photo management seamlessly into your own website whether you're a Photographer, Artist or just wanting to add photos to a small personal site, in a highly presentable style; thus providing your audience with a more dynamic photo browsing experience.
Easily change your images by using any text editor (i.e. Notepad) to modify the XML configuration file. Images are stored and loaded from an external image folder; allowing you to benefit from an external text file/image folder that you can easily change without modifying any Flash source files.
Sold as a complete package consisting of all the necessary code files and support; from the outset we wanted to create a photo browsing application that accommodated the needs of the Photographer, Artist, Webmaster and Family/Hobbyist websites. Because of this broad spectrum we needed to eliminate the most basic programming prerequisite; thus providing everyone equal opportunity to present their photos quickly and without complication – no programming skills required.
We have achieved this by using a combined mix of simple text editing and copy & paste procedures that anyone with a text editor (i.e. Notepad) can easily accomplish. You are provided with these easy to edit code files (.html and .xml) along with an Online Training Video that demonstrates the step-by-step procedures on how to use and embed photoXtremus v3™ on your site.

Note for Photographers and Graphic Designers
The engineers at Adobe® Systems, worked extensively on Photoshop CS3 to provide a new interface that’s slick and intuitive for its users; we now have new enhancements to the full screen mode (F key). There are now 4 modes:
Standard | Maximized | Full screen with menu | Full screen without Menu
Focusing on the fourth mode; Full screen without Menu and pressing the Tab key (presentation mode), is ideal for self checking and displaying your work in all its splendour to clients; isn’t it only logical then, to provide your 'online visitors' the benefit of seeing your work in presentation mode?
Pixels count when sharing images online
When displaying images online, you do not need nearly as many pixels as you do for printing. This also goes for images that will only be viewed on-screen such as in a photo gallery or presentation.
When sharing online images, 800 by 600 pixels is a good average size to go with.
If you wish to reduce file size even further, reduce your images down to 640 by 480 or even 320 by 240; thus reducing the preloading time.
If you're sure your site visitors won't mind watching a preloader a little longer, you may want to go as large as 1024 by 768, but anything larger than that will probably only annoy them. The smaller the pixel dimensions of your image, the smaller the file size will be – your compromise.
- Additional Copies: You can use photoXtremus v3 multiply times if you reference copies from different folders i.e. If you wanted to use the photoXtremus v3 in two different locations on your server such as http://www.yoursite.com/portraits/portraits.html and http://www.yoursite.com/weddings/weddings.html. You would simply place copies of photoXtremus.swf along with the other required files in each separate folder. This procedure is demonstrated step-by-step within the photoXtremus v3 online video tutorial.
